Many characteristics of L. stylirostris are like L. vannamei, however, they prefer high oxygen levels, turbidity, salinities and protein levels. L. stylirostris are aggressive feeders and will roam around the pond looking for feeds. They prefer deep ponds and higher water quality where they are often more intent on escaping from ponds compared to L. vannamei. It can grow up to a maximum length of 230mm. The rostrum with about 7 dorsal teeth and 1 poorly developed ventral tooth. They are blue to white in colour. They are open thelycum species similar to L. vannamei.
